AsTAK is a free GPS tactical-map app for outdoor games such as airsoft and milsim. This policy explains exactly what data the app accesses, why, and who it is shared with. AsTAK is published by AsTAK, 82 rue Albert, 75013 Paris, France — contact@astak.io.

Data we collect

AsTAK accesses the following, only for the purposes described below:

• → Precise GPS location — collected in the foreground and in the background during a game, to place you on the tactical map.
• → Camera — used only to scan a QR code to join a game.
• → Photo library — used only when you choose to attach an image to a point of interest.

AsTAK requires no account. We collect no email and no password. The app generates an anonymous identifier on your device to distinguish players during a game.

How your data is used and shared

Your location is used to display your position on the tactical map during a game. While you are in a session, your real-time position is visible to the other players on your team and to the organizer of the game (the "game master") — this is the core function of the app.

When you play in local mode ("START MY GAME"), your position stays on your device and is never transmitted.

The legal basis for processing your location is your consent, given through the system permission prompts when you start a game.

No advertising, no resale

Your data is never used for advertising. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third-party data brokers.

Data retention

Data sent to our server is automatically deleted after 10 days. Data that stays on your device in local mode is never sent to us.

Your rights (GDPR)

AsTAK is published from France and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. You have the right to access your data, the right to rectification, and the right to erasure.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@astak.io. If your request is not resolved, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
